Description
6 Old Market Street is a Grade II listed building featuring whitewashed plaster on rubble with a painted plinth. It has a steeply pitched new slate roof with plain eaves and a brick end stack.
The building has five first-floor windows, of which two are blocked with false sashes and three have modern windows. The plain reveals are complemented by stone sills.
The shop front for No. 6 is from the 19th century, characterized by plain pilasters, brackets, and a modern blind box. It includes a three-light transomed shop window and a recessed doorway to the left, which has a half-glazed door with a rectangular fanlight. There is also a former house doorway to the left with a modern doorway alongside.
No. 7 features an early 20th-century shop front with a central double doorway, a half-glazed door, and a rectangular fanlight flanked by two-light shop windows, also with plain pilasters, brackets, and a blind box.
