Description

The building is an octagonal ironwork bandstand featuring an ogee lead roof topped with a cast iron weathervane at the apex. It has decorative cast iron supporting brackets with linking panels that rest on foliate capitals atop cast iron columns with bulbous moulded bases. The bandstand includes cast iron decorative screens with panels displaying husk garland motifs, which form a "balustrade" around the podium. Inside, there is a ribbed ceiling with a central rose.

The bandstand stands on an octagonal bull-nosed masonry plinth that is buttressed at the angles. There are steps with side walls and low piers on the north side. The gateway has been widened by removing the left-hand section of ironwork. The foundry name at the base of the columns is illegible.
