Description

The bandstand is an octagonal structure featuring cast iron columns that support a domed roof with a cupola. It stands on a low red brick plinth topped with concrete coping, which also serves as the floor. Access is provided by four concrete steps on the west side, bordered by replaced red brick walls with short square end piers.

The bandstand is adorned with eight ornate circular columns that have bases shaped like vases, decorated with relief foliate designs, rings, and beading, topped with foliated voluted capitals. These columns rest on high fluted and ringed pedestals, with cast iron openwork railings between them. The railings display scrollwork and flower bosses, with square designs on the dog rails.

Above, the columns support segmental-arched cast iron panels featuring scrollwork and flowers in the spandrels, with pendant finials at the centers of the arches. The eaves project and are partially supported by brackets that extend at right angles to the arched panels, designed in the same style. The domed roof is covered with lead on the exterior and timber boarded underneath. Inside, there is a small centrally-placed ceiling rose with scrolled decoration. The moulded cast iron eaves feature raised open scrollwork and tall finials at the corners. The lead-covered cupola, a smaller dome, is encircled by an openwork cast iron frieze and topped with a weather vane.
