Description
The Bandstand in Carmarthen Park is an octagonal structure featuring a metal-clad roof that is also octagonal in shape. The roof has a bellcast lower section and a similarly bellcast top section topped with a finial. Along the outer edge, there is cast-iron cresting. Inside, the flat boarded ceiling is supported by eight cast-iron fluted columns, which have decorative shaft rings and other embellishments, and these columns carry pierced cast-iron triple brackets. Between each column, there is ornate cast-iron railing that is richly detailed. Access to the bandstand is provided by steps on the north side. The bandstand stands on a rendered plinth that includes limestone corner stones and yellow brick coping.
