Description

The eastern pair of lamp standards in Carmarthen Park consists of two cast iron lamp standards that are painted black and white and sit on square concrete bases. Each standard features a square section plinth, leading to a shaft with chamfered angles. The shaft has pierced panels on each side adorned with roundels, and square panels on each side that are pierced with embellished quatrefoils. Underneath, there are four very short inset angle columns, each topped with a pierced rosette on every face and a corbelled cap. The large lamp above may be a 20th-century replacement. The plinths are marked with the name James Davies, Carmarthen.
