Description

No 1 Friar's Row is a cottage that is part of a two-storey row of four cottages, built with painted render and topped with a slate roof featuring small end stacks. The cottages are arranged in two pairs facing south, with each pair having three windows, and the paired doors positioned beneath a single window. Cottages 1 and 2 have three 20th-century uPVC windows on the first floor and one window in each outer bay below. Cottages 3 and 4 feature horned 12-pane sash windows. Cottage 4 has a plain door with a glazed panel. There is a segmental arch in the center leading to a through-passage between cottages 2 and 3. The rear of the building has few windows on both floors, and there is a 20th-century chimney stack on the roof verge serving both cottages 2 and 3.
