Description
No 16 is a terraced house, the middle one of a row of three, built with stucco and featuring a slate roof with paired bracketed eaves and tall red brick end stacks. The house is three stories high with a cellar and has a two-window range. The top floor has 9-pane sash windows, while the first floor features long 15-pane sash windows. On the ground floor, the left side has an arched sash window that is 5 panes wide, with radiating glazing bars in the upper half. To the right is an arched doorway with an open-pedimented doorcase supported by plain pilasters. The doorway includes a plain fanlight and an original 6-panel door with the top four panels fielded, along with fielded panelled reveals. The basement has a large cambered-headed window.
The east and south sides of the front garden are enclosed by a dwarf stone wall and iron railings that match those of No 15, featuring scroll finials and standards with small urn finials. There is a matching gate.
Inside, there is a closed string staircase with stick balusters and turned newels, and a round hall arch supported on consoles. The house contains six-panelled doors and panelled shutters. The front room has a fireplace with roundels at the angles.
