Description

No. 15, including the gate and railings, is a terraced house from the 19th century, part of a row of three, and set back from No. 14. The exterior features painted stucco with a slate roof that has close eaves, originally supported by paired brackets, and a red brick chimney stack on the left. The house is three stories tall with a two-window arrangement. The top floor has 9-pane sash windows, while the first floor has tall, narrow plate sashes.

On the ground floor, there is an arched sash window that is five panes wide, featuring radiating glazing bars. To the right of this window is an arched doorway with a decorative doorcase, and a blind arch immediately to the right over a plain low through-passage entry. The doorway has an open pediment supported by consoles, with added thin iron column supports, and is flanked by renewed reeded half-columns. Above the doorway is a fanlight with radiating tracery. There are three steps leading up to a renewed six-panel door with panelled reveals. The passageway door is plain boarded, and there is a cambered-headed basement window with a horned sash.

The southeast side of the garden and the southwest side of the passage are enclosed by railings with slender uprights and scroll finials on grey limestone coping, featuring urn stanchions. The matching gates include dog bars. There is a row of railings leading up to the door, located to the left of the through-passage path, resting on a rough brick base, with another set of railings between the gardens of Nos. 15 and 16. The ground floor also has panelled shutters.
