Description

No 62 and its forecourt railings is a terraced house that stands slightly forward of No 62 on the left. The house is finished in painted stucco and features a slate roof with 20th-century renewed boxed eaves above brick dentils. There are no chimneys. The building has three storeys and a three-window range, with raised shouldered surrounds around the openings and painted slate sills. The top floor has square horned six-pane sash windows, the first floor has horned twelve-pane sashes, and the ground floor features sashes with marginal glazing bars only on the upper sash. The entrance is a recessed four-panel door, with slate sills on the upper floors and stone sills on the ground floor. A short section of the left end wall is visible in front of No 62.

The forecourt is enclosed by rails on tooled limestone coping, which is set on a stuccoed wall that rises to about 1.5 meters due to the slope of the ground, with a low stuccoed base on the right. There are three slate-capped steps in the center. The rails are made of wrought iron with spearheaded tops and cast-iron anthemion finials on the stanchions. The gate has scrolled ends on the uprights and is also made of wrought iron.

The ground floor was only partially inspected and has been altered for use as a shop. There is a staircase at right angles behind the west room that was not inspected. The east room features a 19th-century cornice.
