Description

This is a post office building constructed in a vernacular neo-Georgian style. It appears to date from the late 20th century, although the exact date is not known. The exterior is painted roughcast with a roof of graded silver-grey slates. The building is single-storied with a roof on deep flat eaves. The right gable end is slate-hung in a similar style, with the slate swept out at the base over flat eaves that extend around from the front wall. The symmetrical front facade features two wide, bowed shop windows, each containing 36 panes. The right window has glazing bars framing a round opening for the office clock. A central eight-panel door is set within a moulded architrave. A raised plinth runs along the base. Attached to the right side is a roughcast gatepier topped with a painted ball finial. The interior has been altered.
