Description
Corris is an attached house dating from the 19th century, featuring painted stucco and a slate roof. It has a moulded eaves cornice and a brick stack that it shares with No 13. The house is three storeys high and has a two-window range, with 16-pane sash windows on the upper floors. The ground floor has a semi-circular headed sash window on the right, which includes radiating glazing bars and marginal bars. To the left, there is an arched doorway with an open pedimented doorcase, reeded half-columns, console brackets supporting the open pediment, panelled reveals, and a plain fanlight. The door itself is a six-panel design with fielded panels. There is also a good rainwater head on the right.
In front of the house, the garden is enclosed by dwarf grey limestone walls topped with iron railings. The railings have uprights with scrolled arrow-headed finials that alternate in height above the top and middle rails. There is a similar double gate with an upswept top rail.
Inside, there is a later 19th-century inner glazed door with etched glass. The house features a 19th-century dog-leg staircase with turned balusters and newels, as well as six-panel doors. The front room has a fluted ceiling border with acanthus detail and elliptical arched wall recesses.
