Description

No 18 is a terraced house, paired with No 19, and set forward of Nos 15-17. It features painted stucco with a slate gabled roof, a tall red brick chimney stack on the left, and small modillions along the eaves cornice. The house is three storeys high with a two-window range that is offset to the right, showcasing 12-pane sash windows and an arched doorway located on the ground floor to the right. The doorcase has been renewed in a simpler style in the late 20th century, with a pediment on plain piers, which was formerly adorned with an open pediment hood on console brackets and panelled pilasters. The fanlight above the door has radiating tracery, and the entrance is fitted with a 20th-century five-panel door. There is a basement window located beneath a 20th-century skylight.

The front garden is enclosed by a dwarf grey limestone wall and features iron railings with scroll finials and dog-bars, along with urn stanchions. The top rail of the garden wall is slightly ramped down, similar to No 19. There are matching railings on the right side and a matching gate, while the left side of the approach steps has thin plain rails.

Inside, the staircase has straight balusters with three per tread, turned bulbous newels, and a ramped handrail. The hall features a plain arch and cornice, and the original six-panel doors have been replaced by fire doors. The front ground floor room has semi-elliptical arches.
