Description

No 19 is a terraced house, paired with No 18, built in the 19th century. It features painted stucco with a slate roof, and has a rendered end stack to the left and a red brick stack to the right, both of which are shared. The house has a modillion eaves cornice and is three storeys high with a two-window range that is offset to the left. There are two roof lights near the ridge, with the upper floor having plate sashes and the first floor featuring 12-pane sashes. On the ground floor, there is a plate sash to the right and an arched doorway that has a plain arched stucco hood supported by plain pilasters. The doorway includes a fanlight with radiating tracery and a six-panel door with fielded top panels and brass fittings. Stone steps lead up to the door. The house has a deep basement with a door and window. An early 20th-century red brick rear wing has been added, which includes a tall end stack.

The path to the front door, the side of the door, and the side of the front garden are bounded by iron railings. The front of the house facing the road has railings on a dwarf grey limestone wall. These railings feature scrolled finials and dog-bars, with the top rail ramped down slightly, similar to No 18. The front gate is of a similar design.

Inside, there are panelled shutters, six-panel doors, and a fireplace in the front room situated between elliptical arched recesses. The entrance hall has a reeded ceiling border and an inner door with an etched glass overlight. The hall arch features a fanlight. The staircase, which matches that of No 18, has stick balusters and bulbous thin newels. On the first floor, there are panelled shutters and a simple cornice. There is also a late 19th-century ornate fireplace located between two elliptical-arched recesses.
