Description
17 Eden Avenue is a two-storey building with an attic, constructed from red brick and pebbledash, topped with a red tiled roof. It features bathstone dressings around some of the ground floor windows and has tall rendered chimneys at both ends. The building has mainly modern glazing with square cames that respect the original openings.
The front elevation has an advanced, steeply-pitched gable bay on the right side, which includes half-timbering at the apex and a three-light window on the first floor. Below this is a splayed bay window that is also covered by a steeply-pitched tiled roof. Centrally located in the gable is a flat-roofed attic dormer, and the roof sweeps down to the first floor, where there is a large hipped dormer featuring a four-light window at the front that turns into three lights on the right side. Below the dormer, there is a recessed loggia flanked by windows with bathstone dressings, along with a window to the rear and a doorway to the left.
The left elevation includes an entrance doorway that is sheltered by a bracketed hood.
