Description
1 Eden Avenue is a pair of houses featuring a red tiled roof and a pebble-dashed first floor above a ground floor of red brick and pebble-dash, with bathstone dressings. The buildings have a central chimney and tall end chimneys that are also pebble-dashed. The windows are casement style with square lead cames, and some include stained glass.
Each house has two half-timbered gabled dormers with 3-light windows in the attic. On the first floor, there are two 3-light wooden casement windows at the center, and the ground floor features a broad red-tiled hipped roof porch with a 3-light window in the center. The entrance door is positioned towards the ends of the porch, flanked by bathstone pillars. The right house has a 2-storey splayed bay window beneath a half-timbered gable, while the left house features a two-storey square bay window with five lights on the front, also under a half-timbered gable.
The end elevation of No 1 includes a projecting gabled block with a chimney. On the first floor, there are two 2-light oriel windows beneath a red-tiled roof. The ground floor has another projecting gabled section made of red brick, with two round-headed windows beneath bands of purple tiles and bathstone keystones. To the left of the chimney, there is a half-timbered attic dormer and a 3-light casement window on the first floor. The roof slopes down to the left, where there is a tall chimney and one 2-light and one 3-light window on the ground floor. The rear of the pair features two gables with three small pane windows between which are two 3-light casements, one for each house.
