Description
Jubilee House is a prominent classical building, built around the early to mid 19th century, and is contemporary with the Town Hall. It features a three-storey, two-window roughcast front, with pedimented outer bays, cement render, and one brick chimney stack. The building has an open pediment at No 52 and a closed pediment at No 53, both supported by Ionic and plain pilasters. The sash windows are deeply set, except for the second floor of No 53, which has fixed glazed windows. The centre first floor has 12-pane sashes flanked by 5-light sashes, although No 53 has replaced frames. No 52 has an advanced fascia and a dentilled cornice on its shop front, with a splayed entrance at the centre featuring an ornamental inner doorway. No 53 has a modern shop front with a segmental headed window and a half-glazed door at the ground floor centre.
