Description

This building is a group of three properties, dating from the 18th century, originally with simple classical detailing. The frontages are rendered in stucco and roughcast, with plinths and a continuous band running along the cills of the windows. The roofs are slate-covered, with projecting eaves and chimney stacks finished in cement rendering. The first-floor windows are small-paned and slightly offset on the front of numbers 50 and 51. Number 49 has a modern shop front flanked by deep pilasters. Numbers 50 and 51 retain sash windows on the ground floor; number 50 has glazing bars in the upper sash, while number 51 has a later shop front with semicircular windows above the entrance. The entrances are arched, composed of two orders, with a modern door at number 49 and panelled doors at numbers 50 and 51. Each entrance features a traceried fanlight. A half-glazed shop door provides access from the splayed corner of the building.
