Description
Windsor Castle Cottage, likely built in the 18th century, is constructed from rubble sandstone, with the front painted and a stone slate roof. The cottage is one storey with an attic and consists of two bays. The original parlour is located in the northwest bay, which is downhill, while the entrance to the living room is in the southeast bay, featuring an external stone stack that is now enclosed by a fuel store.
The entrance includes a boarded door set within an open timber porch. There are two light 19th-century windows with timber lintels, and a projecting stone drip course connects across the door, with dropped ends. A similar drip course is present above the ground floor window on the northwest gable end. The attic has a narrow six-paned dormer, and there are roof lights at the rear.
The parlour end has been converted into a kitchen and services area. A spine beam runs through both bays, which are separated by a timber plank partition. The fireplace at the upper end features a chamfered fire lintel.
