Description
Llwynbarried Farmhouse is a two-storey building with a cellar and attic, constructed of stone with the southern end pebbledashed and a concrete-tile roof. The door and window fittings date from the 19th and 20th centuries, with several situated under timber lintels and/or stone labels. There is a lateral chimney at the front (west) of the hall, with its upper part rebuilt in brick, and cross-wing chimneys on the east and west gables.
Inside, the original hall features a pair of longitudinal ceiling beams that support lateral beams, although none are visible between them. At the southern end, there is a plank and muntin partition leading to a room with an inserted ceiling. The parlour in the cross-wing has a nine-roll moulded ceiling beam and a fireplace with stone jambs and a deep arched timber lintel that is chamfered. The stairs are said to have been located to the right of the chimney, where they still remain above. The base of a plank and muntin partition is visible on the cellar stairs. Another room in the cross-wing has a deep-chamfered ceiling beam and an 18th-century oak plank door.
On the first floor, there are deep-chamfered ceiling beams with angled stops in the cross-wing, while the upper floor of the original hall is higher, featuring a ceiling with boxed trusses. There are two old plank doors leading to spiral stairs with stone treads on the right side of the chimney. The attics of the wing retain the original roof with collared trusses.
