Description

This farm building, likely from the 18th century, is located to the west of New Forest Farmhouse and was built around the same time as the farmhouse. It is a rubble combination barn with a slate roof, which was previously painted. The structure includes a barn to the south, a stable in the middle, and a cowhouse that steps down to the north, with a loosebox beyond. Notable features include distinctive slate-hung raking dormers in the loft, timber lintels, and projecting purlins. The barn has a swept roof porch and slit ventilators, while the stable features boarded split doors and a typical window with six panes above vent slats. The cowhouse has three doors for muck and feed passages.
