Description
Upper Danyforest is a single-storey building with a semi-attic, constructed of stone and featuring a half-hipped roof made of corrugated asbestos and iron on the east side. The windows are 19th and 20th century wooden casements. On the north side, there is a 19th century plank door with a hood that has been inserted, along with an extended stone slab likely leading to the original door and window. The west end has an old plank door set beneath a chamfered lintel, and there is a timber-lintelled old hayloft entrance on the same side. The south side has a blocked central door that has been converted into a window, which is now under a stone slab. Inside, there is an internal chimney featuring a moulded cornice, which has two periods and has been repaired with brick. There is also a modern lean-to addition on the north side, which is rendered with a slate roof and metal windows.
The hall contains a fireplace with a chamfered beam and monolithic jambs, as well as stone chimney-side stairs and a deep-chamfered ceiling beam. The inner room has plain joists. The former cowhouse includes a blocked door to the house and various ceiling beams; the roof consists of two bays with a tiebeam and collar, along with wide purlins.
