Description
The barn at Bryntirion Dairy is a late 17th century to early 18th century structure made of whitewashed rubble and topped with a corrugated iron roof. On the left end, there is a stone-tile roof lean-to, which is said to have been a slaughterhouse. To the right, there is a forward corrugated iron lean-to garage and a modern extension at the end.
The barn features a tall cart entrance on the northwest side, which has boarded infill above corrugated iron double doors, and a lower exit on the southeast side. The gable ends are adorned with trefoils at the tops, and there are slit ventilators, particularly noticeable on the northeast end, while the southwest end has none.
Inside, the barn has a three-bay layout with a stone flagged threshing floor and a boarded partition on the left. The roof structure consists of pegged collar and tie beam trusses with overlapping purlins, and later supporting struts have been added.
