Description
The detached kitchen at Cilonw Farm is a single-storey structure built of stone with a corrugated iron roof. It features original window openings, one of which has three heavy diagonal oak mullions. The gable-end doorway is also original, framed with heavy chamfered oak, and includes a stone label and a cambered inner arch, leading to an old elm door. There is a bread-oven located against the chimney, which is in a state of collapse.
Inside, the kitchen has stone floors and retains its original roof with stout purlins. A plank and muntin partition, chamfered towards the kitchen, is present, with timber framing above the tiebeam and some remnants of wattle and daub. The tall chamfered doorway features unusual ovolo-stops. The kitchen contains an open fireplace that has been altered, and the inner room has chamfered ceiling beams.
