Description
This is a detached former barn, now converted into a house, located southwest of Pontgarreg Cottage. The building is constructed from rubble stone, which was whitewashed when it was listed in 1981, and features red brick dressings and a slate gabled roof. It is irregularly two storeys high.
On the long walls, there are tall cambered-arched entries that have been infilled with late 20th-century glazing. The east side has one ventilation slot to the right, while the west side has two. On the east side, there is a cambered-headed four-pane sash window on the first floor to the left, and a small four-pane arched window on the ground floor. To the right of the barn door are two ground floor four-pane sashes with cambered brick heads and slate sills. The roof also features three flush late 20th-century skylights. The left gable end facing the road is blank.
The right end of the barn originally had outside steps leading up between the barn and a rubble outbuilding to the right, which has a flat-arched entry in its front wall. This section has been largely rebuilt in the late 20th century, now featuring a recessed one-window rendered section to the left with a four-pane sash on each floor, presumably where the stairs once were, and a rebuilt rubble stone section to the right that includes one ground floor four-pane sash with a cambered brick head.
