Block W of former laundry, St David's Hospital

The building is Block W of the former laundry at St David's Hospital, which was an infectious diseases hospital. It is constructed from rockfaced rubble stone with Bath stone dressings and features slate roofs that overhang at the eaves. The layout is roughly H-shaped, consisting of a two-storey central section flanked by single-storey wings and end wards.

The central part has rebated angles and hipped roofs, with a configuration of 1-4-1 bays featuring 4-pane sash windows in flush chamfered surrounds. The outer bays of the four-bay section include doors and overlights, while the doors are from the 20th century. The building has a plinth, a band, and a sill-course.

The single-storey, three-bay wings connect to L-plan ward blocks that project forward from the central range. These ward blocks have two parallel roofs, with the inner roof hipped over the shorter range. The inner side features a long sash window, while the southern end has a pair of sash windows looking into an open lean-to porch or veranda at the angle of the longer outer range. The outer ranges have gable ends with overhanging eaves above a hipped-roofed canted bay that contains 1-2-1 long 12-pane sashes. There is a door in the inner side wall, located within the veranda, which has rendered stone pillars supporting a two-bay front. The outer side walls are fitted with sash windows and there is a 20th-century flat roof addition.
