Description

Millbank Hall is a substantial detached house that features whitewashed roughcast with stucco dressings. It dates back to the 19th century and consists of two storeys with two parallel ranges, the rear range being lower and narrower. The building has a slate gabled valley roof with bracketed eaves and retains one stuccoed stack on the left side.

The front of the house is divided into three main bays on the left and one on the right. All the windows have been replaced with uPVC since 1981, including two canted bay windows on the ground floor, which are located on either side of the porch. The porch itself has two round posts and a flat roof, with a 20th-century half-glazed uPVC door. The house features raised stucco angle quoins, a plinth, and window surrounds, along with lion head masks at each end under the eaves. There is an added lean-to at the left end that includes a 20th-century window.

The right gable end of the house is windowless and has a missing chimney. The gable end of the rear range, which adjoins the main structure, has a 20th-century uPVC window in the centre of the first floor and another in the left side of the ground floor, along with a 20th-century porch that has a half-glazed door on the right. The rear of the rear range features 20th-century windows on the first floor and an attached single-storey outhouse to the left.

Since 1981, one chimney has been removed, and all the front windows, which were originally casements with four-centred Tudor-arched lights, have been replaced. The two canted bays previously had Tudor-arched lights with sunk spandrels. The porch was originally designed with Tuscan columns, and the door featured Tudor-arched upper panels on a four-panel door with a 19th-century knocker.
