Description
The forecourt rails, gates, and piers to Capel Y Priordy are made of a low wall constructed from rubble stone, topped with painted ashlar coping. The cast-iron railing features a top and bottom rail, with alternating broader and narrower rails in cross section. The standards are chamfered cast-iron squares topped with large fleur-de-lys finials. The gate posts are panelled cast-iron with corniced caps and acorn finials, and the left gate post is inscribed with "Bakers Newport." There is a pair of broad iron gates that include a mid-rail and alternate fleur-de-lys finials.
