Description
The St John's Priory Precinct Wall, also known as Nun's Walk, is a boundary wall made of stone rubble with medieval foundations located below ground. It forms the northwest boundary of the former St John's Priory and was excavated in 1979. The wall runs northeast from the former Priory Gateway. Above ground, the stone wall features some large boulders, with the lower courses believed to date back to the medieval period. The wall rises to approximately ten feet high, although it is lower at the northeast end. At the southwest end, it is attached to the gable end of No 6 Old Priory Road. The northeast half of the wall is in a state of disrepair and runs along the rear of outbuildings.
