Description

1 Priory Street is an early 20th-century end-terraced house combined with a shop. The exterior is painted roughcast with a slate roof featuring boxed eaves, which are lower than those of the adjacent property. The building is two storeys high with a three-window facade, offset to the left. The upper floor has long sash windows with four panes each, with glazing bars in the upper halves. Similar windows are on the ground floor to the left. A central, square-headed doorway has a four-panel door and a traceried overlight. To the right is a late 19th or early 20th-century shop front, with a recessed door within a casing of pilasters, fascia, cornice, and consoles topped with small gables. The shop door has a square-paned overlight. The window and door surrounds are plain stucco, featuring incised keystones with fleur-de-lys motifs above the ground-floor window and door. The building also includes a sill band, plinth, and angle strips.
