Description

Cefn-Coed Mawr is a building with a whitewashed rubble facade that is offset to the right. It features a slate roof with close bargeboards and rendered gable chimney stacks. The windows date from the late 19th century, with three upper 4-pane pivoted windows that rise to the eaves. The central door, which has a cambered head, is from the 20th century. To the left on the ground floor, there are two 4-pane horned sash windows, while to the right, there is a window with a cambered stone voussoired head and a lintel above another window. There is also a 4-pane pivoted window to the right with a cambered stone voussoired head. A 20th-century lean-to garage is located to the right, and there is a 20th-century ground floor window at the left end. The rear of the building is rendered and has three upper windows similar to those at the front, along with a small 4-pane window on the ground floor left, where missing plaster reveals a brick cambered head. A 20th-century gabled extension is present to the right, and a low mid-19th century rubble extension is located in the center, featuring a gable window with a cambered stone voussoired head.

Inside, there is a roughly chamfered cross-beam in the ground floor left room. The lobby contains six-panel doors, with raised and fielded panels leading to the parlour. A simple late 19th-century dog-leg staircase leads to the lobby, complete with turned balusters and square newels; the stair appears to be supported by a piece of a cruck-blade. A large fireplace has been blocked, and the roof features a collar beam with iron cramps.
