Description
The Barn Range at East House Farm is a group of farm buildings arranged around three sides of a courtyard, with the house located in the northern range. The western range includes a large barn and a small barn, which are separated by a lofted cartshed and a stable. The buildings are constructed from limewashed rubble with some brick detailing and feature slate roofs.
The larger barn, located in the southwest, has wide, high arched doors on both sides, although these are now blocked or partially blocked. A 20th-century extension obscures part of the elevation facing the yard. Under the same roofline, there are two bays for cartshed use, along with a small stable adjacent to it. The cartshed has paired entries with shallow brick arches, and the stable has similarly arched heads for its window and door, with an additional doorway that has been blocked. Above, there are six regularly spaced windows beneath the eaves. To the north of the larger barn, there is a smaller barn, which may be older, featuring narrow opposed doorways and flanking vents.
