Description
Farm Square at Hurst House is a large square grassed area that was once a farmyard. It is accessed through a segmental arch made of voussoired stone, which is part of a whitewashed rubble wall lining the road and forming the eastern range. There is a similar opening with a dated keystone leading to a former coach house at the southern end. A dovecote is located at the gable end, accessible by outside rubble steps on the left, with loading platforms on the right.
The southern and western ranges are two-storey structures with whitewashed rubble walls and slate roofs, featuring a partially whitewashed outer wall on the southern range. The upper floor has various square-headed openings, while the ground floor has segmental voussoir openings. Later alterations include a modern conversion from its original farm use.
There are additional similar outbuildings located to the north.
