Description
The East farm-range at East House Farm is a collection of farm buildings arranged around three sides of a courtyard, with the house located centrally in the northern range. The eastern range consists of several sheds that feature a distinctive mono-pitched roof against a tall enclosing wall. These sheds were likely used primarily for storage or as workshop space, and at the northern end of this range, there is a wash-house or brew-house.
There are five doors and three windows positioned directly below the eaves line. The roofline extends over a covered bay in the southeast corner, where it connects to the storeyed building in the cow-house range. An external doorway leads from the yard into this covered area. The wash-house or brew-house is notable for its tall axial chimney, which has a doorway to its right and a window on each side.
