Description
Kingston Barn is a group of farm buildings, likely built in the early 19th century. The main barn and cart shed are positioned at right angles to the road, featuring rubble stone walls and a stone slate roof. On the east side, at the left end, there are three segmental stone arches supported by stone piers, which form the cart shed. The barn section to the right includes a hipped cart porch. On the west side, stone steps lead up to a loft door located in a gabled dormer. The barn itself consists of seven bays and has a queen post roof. Attached to the rear of the barn is a single-storey range, parallel to the road, made of rubble stone with a stone slate roof, which likely served as a former cowshed. Most openings appear to be from the 20th century. Adjacent to the road, enclosing the yard, is a former stable range with rubble stone walls and a corrugated asbestos roof, built at two levels. It features one ledged door and window openings that are filled with corrugated iron, facing the yard.
