Description
The former reading room and library is a two-storey building constructed of snecked rubble masonry. It features a hipped tiled roof with boarded eaves and paired modillions.
On the first floor, there is a six-pane sash window set under the eaves, framed by stone voussoirs. A stone staircase with iron handrails leads up to a broad depressed arched doorway, which also has stone voussoirs. Above the double doors, there is a radial fanlight with deep round arched moulded panels.
To the right of the entrance, there is a stone tablet commemorating the rebuilding of the structure in 1851.
