Description
This building, used for goldsmithing, jewellery, and silversmithing, dates from the mid-19th century and has undergone later alterations. It is two storeys high with a three-window shop front. The façade is plastered over rubble with a tiled plinth, which was painted over at the time of inspection. The roof has a moderate pitch and is covered with slate, featuring laid eaves and a rendered stack.
On the first floor, there is a 12-pane sash window on the left. The glazing bars have been removed from the lower sashes of the centre and right-hand windows. A 1930s clock by Howells of Llandeilo is mounted on a bracket above the street.
The ground floor features a late 19th-century shop window. It has gabled fascia ends supported by paired brackets over fluted end pilasters, with a plain fascia and a later canopy box. The entrance is canted and recessed, offset to the left, with a half-glazed door that has a fielded bottom panel. To the right, there is a two-light shop window, and to the left, a single light window with turned rods. The stall risers are tiled, and there is an interesting counter window at the extreme right, which has a single fixed light with similar detailing to the shop window and a shouldered architrave.
