Description
Castle Antiques is a house featuring a painted roughcast front and a slate roof, with a brick stack on the left and a shared stone stack on the right. The building has two storeys and a three-window front, which includes 20th-century six-pane windows, slate sills, and a central half-glazed door with an overlight, all set within a raised stucco surround.
Inside, the house boasts a heavy beamed five-bay ceiling with chamfered main beams, which are stopped at one end only, suggesting they may be reused. The joists are also chamfered. At the northern end, there is a large inglenook fireplace with a heavily blackened timber lintel positioned directly behind one of the main beams. A small staircase from the early 19th century is located centrally, and the upstairs rooms feature corresponding beams that are much smaller in size.
