Description
The Sticks Hotel is a three-storey hotel built with painted stucco, featuring a three-window range that is offset to the left. It has gablets above the eaves-breaking attic windows, pitched slate roofs, and a stone stack on the left side. The entrance is marked by a central four-panel painted timber door with a rectangular overlight, set within a raised rusticated stucco doorcase that includes a keystone. To the left of the entrance is an eight-pane sash window with a painted slate sill. Similar windows are found on the first floor to the left and center. To the right of the entrance, there is a tripartite window with two eight-pane sashes and a matching window on the first floor to the right. The upper storey features three stuccoed gables, each with eaves-breaking four-pane small sashes that have slate sills. The building has a wide painted eaves board and cast iron rainwater goods, as well as a raised plinth.
An added two-storey range is located to the right, constructed with painted render and featuring a plinth. It has a slate roof with slightly lower eaves and is double-fronted, with tripartite 20th-century plate glass sashes on each floor, flanking a 20th-century door. The extreme right side has a recessed door with an overlight and a first-floor plate glass sash.
Inside, a mid-19th century staircase is visible on the ground floor, although the remainder of the interior has been significantly altered.
