Description

Albion House is an early 19th century end-terrace house, originally comprising three bays. The exterior is roughcast, with a slate roof featuring end stacks, brown brick to the west, and a taller rendered stack to the east. A raised first-floor sill band and narrow stucco surrounds define the window openings. The windows are twelve-pane sashes with painted stone sills and reveals; the first-floor sashes are hornless. A central panelled timber door, which is half-glazed, is set within a large 20th-century timber glazed porch with a flat leaded roof.

The forecourt is enclosed by a slate-capped rubble stone wall with square end-piers, which have stepped pyramidal stone caps. The wall carries locally-made wrought-iron rails consisting of broad scrolls between two horizontal bars. The upper bar is embellished with spearheads and small flanking scrolls. Paired gates are centered with spearheads and scrolls, featuring an oversized scroll above a bottom margin bar and dog-bars below.

According to unverified reports, the interior contains a broad central hall and a central timber staircase, with panelled timber internal doors.
