Description
Cyncoed is a terraced house built as a mirrored pair, located next to Osbourne House on the right. It dates from the 19th century and features two storeys with a two-window range, constructed in painted stucco with a slate roof. The building has a painted timber bargeboard and eaves board, along with a red brick stack at the north end.
On the first floor, there are two 12-pane timber sash windows with slate sills and plain reveals. The ground floor includes a timber door with a small rectangular overlight, which is deeply recessed to the right, and a three-sided canted bay window to the left. The bay window has a stucco wall beneath a continuous slate sill, featuring a 12-pane sash window at the front and narrow 4-pane glazing on the canted sides, all framed by a wide timber structure. Above the bay, there is a cornice with a flat leaded roof.
In front of the building, there is a small square forecourt enclosed by rendered dwarf walls, complemented by distinctive locally-made iron railings. The painted wrought iron rails are notable for their oversized scrolls between long horizontal bars, topped with small spearheads above the uppermost bar.
