Description
Ffynnon Fair House is a two-storey house featuring a three-window range, constructed in unpainted roughcast. It has a pitched slate gabled roof and large rendered end stacks. The building is accented by raised vertical stucco bands at the corners and a first-floor sill band. The openings have raised stucco surrounds and keystones, along with stone sills. Throughout the house, there are two-pane plate glass timber-framed sash windows. The central entrance consists of a half-glazed panelled timber door set within a 20th-century gabled timber enclosed porch. The eaves are finished with plain boards and cast iron rainwater goods. The external stack on the left has a broader base with a narrow raised stone band, followed by a shouldered centre section and a narrow upper section. There is a small gable window on the southwest side, which is a single-pane casement. At the rear, there is a low outshut extension with a slate roof and a rendered stack.
Inside, the house is said to have a notable late 17th-century or early 18th-century staircase leading up to the attic. This staircase features a pulvinated string and twisted balusters, with thin square newels that have simple carved droplets beneath, although the pendants are missing.
