Description
Dairy Cottage at Dynevor Castle, also known as Newton House, is a Grade II listed building featuring a picturesque Gothic style on the south front and an elaborate Swiss-style on the north front. The cottage is a three-bay, one-storey and attic structure with a prominent central section beneath a simple pediment. It has stone tile roofs that slope low over the side bays, with rubble walls that were formerly rendered, and a modern brick chimney stack.
The pediment includes an oculus, and below it are twin pointed windows with rectangular hood moulds. To the right, there are paired timber lancets under a cambered opening, and to the left, a pointed doorway. The north front features projecting eaves and sinuous timber brackets supporting an elaborate balcony with lattice work. Inside, there are good surviving diamond tiled floors.
