Description

Rock House is a two-storey house with an attic, built of painted lined stucco and featuring a deep-eaved slate roof. It has stuccoed end stacks with external chimneybreasts, the larger stack located at the left end. The house has three bays and three hipped dormers that contain small-paned horizontally-sliding casements. The deep moulded eaves are supported by large scrolled brackets.

On the first floor, there are four-pane sash windows in the centre and to the right, and on the ground floor, there are four-pane sashes in the centre and to the left. To the left on the first floor, there is a canted 19th-century oriel window with 2-4-2 panes, which has a moulded cornice and is supported by two pierced cast-iron brackets. The doorway features a fielded panelled six-pane door with sidelights, set in a broad opening beneath a 19th-century moulded stucco cornice on console brackets. An outer timber insert in the doorcase has sidelights over timber panels and an open centre.

To the right, there is a lower extension that includes a large square bay window flanked by railings with urn finials on the standards. At the rear, there is a parallel range with a stuccoed north end stack.

The interior has not been inspected but is reported to have a panelled hall with a reset arched cupboard, a staircase with turned balusters, an upstairs room with a panelled wall and dado panelling, and some fielded panelled doors.
