Description

Coldstream Lodge is a house built with painted stucco and a slate roof, featuring rendered end stacks, with the west chimney breast on the exterior. The building is two stories high and has a four-window range, showcasing renewed 12-pane sash windows, with a 16-pane sash on the ground floor to the left. There is a 19th-century gabled porch in the second bay, made of painted render and adorned with fretted bargeboards and an arched entry, leading to a 20th-century door. The east end has renewed 4-pane sashes and 20th-century verge boards, while the west end features an earlier outside stack, suggesting that the roof has been raised. The rear of the house includes an outshut and a 19th-century two-story northwest rear wing with a brick end stack.

Inside, the entrance hall leads to a four-flight staircase with a moulded rail, closed string, and stick balusters, which may date from the later 18th century. There is a four-panel fielded panel door leading to the room on the right side, with two similar doors on the landing. The roof consists of six collar trusses, three of which are older pegged oak with dovetailed collars, and three made of pine. The porch was originally open, and the inner door is now a 20th-century half-glazed design.
