Description

The War Memorial is a structure featuring a white marble statue of a soldier holding a rifle at his side, positioned on a tall square pedestal made of stone and granite. The pedestal has a chamfered square base, a square plinth with an ogee top moulding, and a battered red granite shaft topped with a large shallow-coved stone capstone. The shaft is inscribed with a commemorative message honoring those who died in the First World War, along with their names.
