Description

Brook Cottage is a pair of cottages that have been combined into one house. The exterior is finished in pebbledash, topped with a roof of grey random slates and featuring four red brick chimney stacks. The left side appears to be a pair of later 19th century cottages that were added to an earlier structure on the right. The left section is two stories tall and has four windows, with advanced gables in the first and third bays, each featuring cambered-headed four-pane sash windows on both floors. The second bay has a similar sash window on the ground floor and the fourth bay has one on the first floor, above a 20th-century door. The ground floor windows are larger and have brick heads. The right section includes a large central canted bay with a hipped roof, triple four-pane sash windows on the first floor, and a low door in the center of the ground floor, flanked by small windows on either side. An external chimney breast with a brick stack is located on the east end wall. There is also an outbuilding attached to the east, which has an asbestos sheet roof and one window on the south side.
