Description
No. 4 Castle Terrace is a three-storey terraced house, dating from the 18th century. The exterior is painted stucco, topped by a slate roof with renewed red brick end wall stacks. Deep eaves are present, featuring tiny paired modillions, although the 20th-century fascia board simplifies the original cornice. The house has a two-window facade, with an arched doorway in the left bay. The attic windows are square 6-pane sashes. The first floor has horned 4-pane sashes replacing original 12-pane windows on the right-hand side, all with stone sills. A raised band runs above the ground floor, and the recessed 6-panel front door has unusual marginal tracery to the fanlight. The interior has not been inspected.
