Description

Victoria Wine is a detached house with a shop, featuring colourwashed roughcast and close-eaved slate roofs. The building has an L-plan layout with a hipped roof that extends from the street end of a large projecting northwest wing, and a rear range that may be older, which includes a brick stack on the gable at the left end. The hipped range has two side-wall stacks on the right side wall.

The structure is two storeys high, with the street front displaying a ground floor shopfront and a first floor 19th century timber oriel window that has canted sides, 2-4-2 pane sashes, a coved cornice, and a hipped slate roof. The shopfront features an entry to the left and a large three-light window to the right, topped with an overall fascia and cornice. The left return wall includes a small tripartite sash window on the first floor.

At the back, a short section of the original building has a 12-pane small sash window above a six-panel door with two fielded panels, both positioned at an angle to the wing. A porch supported by a single turned column has a hipped lean-to roof, although it was flat corniced in 1978. There is a short outbuilding to the left with a half-hipped left gable.

Low walls, also colourwashed and stuccoed, enclose the remaining two sides of a small forecourt, featuring gabled piers and an iron pedestrian gate with dog-bars and spearhead finials.
