Description
37 West Street is a terraced house dating from the 19th century, featuring stucco cladding that is lined to resemble ashlar. The roof is designed to imitate slate and has close eaves, with the eaves and ridge higher than the adjacent house at No 35. The ridge line is similar to that of No 39, but the eaves are slightly lower. The house has crested ridge tiles and shared rendered end stacks.
The building is two stories tall with a three-window elevation that is offset to the right. On the upper floor, there are three to four-pane sash windows with peripheral glazing bars. The ground floor includes a similar window on the left, a central doorway, and a large six-pane sash window with peripheral glazing bars on the right. The doorway features a 20th-century plastic door with a plain overlight, and there is a slate step leading up to the door. The house also has a raised plinth.
