Description
41 West Street is one of a pair of houses in a longer terrace, featuring pebbledash cladding and an imitation slate roof. This building has eaves and a ridge that are higher than the adjacent house at No 43, and it has a rendered stack at the right end. It is two stories tall with an attic and has a two-window elevation.
The central gable in the roof, shared with No 39, contains 2-3-pane attic casement windows with sloping heads. On the upper floor, there are two 12-pane sash windows with cambered heads. The ground floor features a 12-pane sash window that is offset to the left of the upper right window, along with a doorway to the left. The door is a 20th-century four-panel design with a plain overlight and a slate step.
The windows are framed by plain painted eared stucco surrounds with moulded keystones, while the door has a similar surround without ears, connected to a narrow painted stucco plinth that includes a small vent. The roof has been replaced since the building was listed in 1978.
